Each story lasts 20-30 hours, going at a good pace and as long as we do not entertain ourselves a lot in getting extras (like the almost impossible to find “Seeds”, necessary for the final transformation of our characters), the main argument connects the characters in pairs, although they all start differently and have their nuance later.

With what we have a minimum of 60 hours in total if we want to know the entire script, interesting but otherwise quite typical of these games:

Unfortunately, centuries later someone is trying to get hold of the stones and the power of manna, awakening these creatures and sowing terror in the world … Oh, and indeed, we are the chosen ones, so that does not happen. What we must recognise is that the way of narrating the plot was entirely novel for the time and of course there will be emotional moments, since the protagonists will take love, and even some draft script.

The game is very nice, but … is it fun to play this or what?

The short answer is yes. The long one is “Yes, and a lot”. You do not want to extend more talking when you could be killing guinea pigs that are so nice in the woods. Secret of Mana 2 polishes the gameplay of the previous ones and it is a joy to fight for the world, so that although there are plenty of hostile bugs on the screen, we will rarely flee from the fights (among other things because the character is put on guard whenever there is battle near and much slower). It maintains the “super attack” system that we can perform by loading a blow meter that we will fill, giving rise to some very spectacular that fill the entire screen and also be different depending on how we progress to our characters. Our characters will evolve like Pokémon up to twice, on the path of light or darkness.

There are no differences in the plot, but usually, by light, our avatar gains protection powers and darkness in damage and aggressiveness. There is no winning combination; it merely adds variety to the gameplay. The menu system when we want to use an item (and there will be combats that depend on its proper use) is kept in circles that form around the character and stop the action. Although it perpetuates some confrontations, it is direct, clear and allows us to plan our movements in crucial battles.
