Because of the development specification, the Selphy CP900/CP810/CP800 could not support Windows 8. The current Selphy printer driver was not developed based on the standard driver of Microsoft (V3 driver), and because it is proprietary, it is not possible to support the current Windows OS upgrade. Once again the latest printer driver posted on Canon's site for the Selhpy 900 (or 910) does not install in Yosemite. The same has already occurred at the release of Mavericks. Somehow Canon always manages to hard-code not just the base=oldest OS version into their driver installation applications, but also the latest version in which the driver is supposed to work.
Eventually they usually come up with an updated driver, but that may take anything from several months to the time when a newer version of the printer is released, which may be never.
Anyone else having the same issue, and a solution? I recall that with Mavericks there was a hack for the driver installation procedure tricking it to believe it was running under Mountain Lion, or getting rid of the '10.8' restriction, but I can't find it any longer. And of course I can't find such a solution for Yosemite.
